A Narrow terrace on the very bohemian Rue des Martyrs with a window display embellished with tiles… Jules is in front of the Cul de Poule, a playful or dare to say slightly crazy restaurant in the 9th arrondissement.
Inside, the decor is made up of bits and pieces: mix match chairs, a flashy green bench, random objects … a perfectly captured fifties vibe! Following the fresco signed Shoboshobo (musician illustrator), Jules finds himself upstairs with a crucial question: How to tame those big cushions? Sit, lie? And yes indeed, upstairs there are no tables or chairs, but a large sofa with cushions and trays on which the food is served! Unusual décor -Yes! Does it work- Absolutely!
As for the food, the vegetables come from the garden of Sylvain and Alain Passard (oh la la!), the super slicer expertly works on the ham and the cheese is none other than the Burrata mozzarella! Result: no muss no fuss, simple, flavorful dishes such as the roasted Bresse chicken for two or Basque sausage! A fairly short menu, but a kitchen with real products! Bravo and hats off to the chef!
Jules loves: natural wines by the glass!
Open daily from noon to 14:30 (except Sunday) and 20h (19h Sunday) at 23h.
