Jules is a loyal guy. He would walk the Earth and swim the seven seas, when he’s in love! So when young Chef Pierre Jancou closed down his restaurant, Racine, on Passage des Panoramas, Jules was thoroughly depressed… Where was he supposed to eat now that his favourite eatery had closed down? Obviously he hadn’t taken into account the young chef’s ability to surprise him with a new Parisian address.

Behind the Grands Boulevards, a stone’s throw from Gare de l’Est, Pierre Jancou opened up Vivant, a bistrot nestled in a former 1903’s birdshop. Ceramic tiles from that period cover floors and ceiling, Formica tables; this unusual location delights enthusiasts of authenticity and exoticism. One can relish in a simply yet tasty cuisine with dishes such as boiled Andouillette or melted foie gras, two of the bistro’s specialty. The wait was worth it, Pierre Jancou is back for back, as is his awesome bobo bistro.
