Jules will never grow up!

It’s a well known fact, 21st century thirtysomethings have a habit of refusing to grow up and become fully fledged adults. Their favourite hobby? Wandering the streets of Paris and clearing out the capital’s trendy concept stores, from Colette to Afwosh whilst passing through the Pop Market. This “it-store” in Canal Saint-Martin is decked out like Ali Baba’s cave, offering a selection of fashion accessories and hilarious decorative objects!

You can’t help but fall in love with the stationary corner and the bookshop, or the designated children’s zone; you can’t deny that there is always a little something in kid’s corner that you really really want, as grown up as you might be! It is the perfect place to buy an original present for the inevitable end of year parties which are only just round the corner.

Open Tuesday to Friday from 11am to 3pm, and from 4pm to 7.30pm, Saturdays from 11am to 7.30pm, and Sundays from 3pm to 7pm.

Jules is a fan of the Boot!

Mamma mia! But what is that? Virgin olive oil, polenta, Italian wines, sundried tomatoes from Apulia, fresh Ricotta, not to mention the almond milk and the Cosenza figs… A paradise for all who cherish the tastes from ‘the boot’! Jules, an admirer of Italian cuisine, doesn’t hesitate to take il suo amore to RAP, a fine Italian delicatessen which has been transformed into a chic restaurant.

At the moment, you can taste a seasonal vegetable Strudel, prawns seasoned in black truffle oil, or a tart of aubergines in basil, or fillets of sole gilded in Parmesan. Of course, after your meal, a shopping trip the delicatessen is necessary so you can leave with thousands of products to eat!

RAP, the Italian restaurant, welcomes you from Wednesday to Sunday, afternoons and weekends.
The Delicatessen is open Tuesday, 10.30am to 1pm and 3.30pm to 7.30pm and on Wednesday to Sunday 10.30am to 8pm.

Jules finds his femininity at Gals Rock!

This is a place that Jules discovered by accident, while spending an evening with his group of friends in the Pigalle quarter, looking for a bar… Passing in front of Gals Rock, the guitar riffs titillated his ears, being the rock amateur that he is, and he could not stop himself from making a musical stop in this odd shop. Why is it odd? Because Gals Rock is dedicated solely to the feminine rock culture!

Here, girls find the ‘diamond rocker’ which is in them and buy clothes, books, vinyl’s, accessories or 100% Rock DVDs! The opportunity to share musical culture, by discovering a list of incredible female rock artists is here in this shop.

A few times a month; Pauline and Clémence, the directors of Gals Rock, organise free showcases : where Jules will go to very regularly from now on ! There is no shortage of fake moustaches to buy, also sold by the boutique, to pretend to be manly men… But his darling gets them and imitates him to (gently) mock him!

Jules is crazy about La Fidélité

Jules knows, obviously, all the places in Paris to go to in order to be seen. So, after spending a steamy night at hotel Amour with his beloved, and spending his evenings at Le Baron, Jules has become fully infatuated with somewhere else: La Fidélité, THE ultimate in chic bistros, conceived by the duo André and Lionel.

So, what’s on the cards at La Fidélité? A chic atmosphere with plaster moulded walls, and a classic yet appetising menu, that’s what. Jules can never decide between two dishes: Knuckle of Lamb with a citrus confit and a sprinkling of Almonds, or the Noix de Saint-Jacques, served with mashed potatoes and spinach with a garlic butter sauce. And being the romantic that he is, he always feels the need to order a dessert of French toast with caramel butter to share with his sweetheart, whilst staring deep into each others eyes.

Often Jules finishes his nights here, a tad on the wrong side of tipsy, in the restaurant’s cellar, classified “TOP SECRET”; This is the place where the beautiful Parisian women dance the night away…

Open Monday to Saturday from 8pm – 1am.

Pierre Jancou is alive !

Jules is a loyal guy. He would walk the Earth and swim the seven seas, when he’s in love! So when young Chef Pierre Jancou closed down his restaurant, Racine, on Passage des Panoramas, Jules was thoroughly depressed… Where was he supposed to eat now that his favourite eatery had closed down? Obviously he hadn’t taken into account the young chef’s ability to surprise him with a new Parisian address.

Behind the Grands Boulevards, a stone’s throw from Gare de l’Est, Pierre Jancou opened up Vivant, a bistrot nestled in a former 1903’s birdshop. Ceramic tiles from that period cover floors and ceiling, Formica tables; this unusual location delights enthusiasts of authenticity and exoticism. One can relish in a simply yet tasty cuisine with dishes such as boiled Andouillette or melted foie gras, two of the bistro’s specialty. The wait was worth it, Pierre Jancou is back for back, as is his awesome bobo bistro.

Jules’ forgets about his troubles at the Silencio

Although Jules is totally smitten with his beloved Juliette, the story of an old flame causes his jealousy to resurface. The term “let’s take a break” is thrown about, causing Jules to rush off to Silencio, the new Parisian club that EVERYBODY is talking about, so that he can forget about his sweetheart. Isn’t Paris the capital of the world when it comes to beautiful women?

At 142 on the rue Montmartre you’ll find this temple of temptation, thought up by the great David Lynch himself! Ah yes, now you remember, it’s the one in Mulholland Drive, that elaborate film by the celebrated American director. The bit where gentle Naomi Watts went into the dark, inviting club… le Silencio! In association with the now legendary Social Club team, David Lynch suddenly decided to become a designer. As an end result, Le Silencio is shadowy and mysterious, decked out in black and gold. To get in, you have to take a staircase that takes you six meters underground (any lower is forbidden), and you are given access to a club that is full of alcoves and surprises…

A cinema room? No, you aren’t dreaming! Le Silencio puts on a number of shows (concerts, theatre, cinema etc) and then, come 11pm, transforms into a Parisian night time paradise. Oh yes, one tiny issue… to get in for free, you have to have that one important thing: a membership card! It will allow you to go to the shows and get straight in to the club whenever you want, even with up to two guests.

It goes without saying that Jules is on the guestlist! The club opens at the start of October, but Jules had the opportunity of going to the opening night… Rest assured (or not…), he hasn’t quite forgotten about Juliette…

Open from 6pm – 11pm for members (membership 65€ a month), giving you access to private concerts, lectures, exhibitions etc.
The club opens from 11pm for non-members (limited entry)
